Description

The Supervisor, Pipeline Control Centre is a key member of the Pipeline Control Centre leadership team and is responsible for supporting safe, reliable, and efficient pipeline operations across Inter Pipeline's transportation assets. Reporting to the Director, Operations Services, this role provides day-to-day leadership and operational direction to Control Centre Advisors (CCA's)and Control Centre Operators (CCO's) while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

ย  ย Maintain continuous qualification on an assigned operating console
ย  ย Overall Responsibility for Leak Detection monitoring and management 24/7/365.
ย  ย Management of CCO's and CCA's as well as their effectiveness, quality of work and results. ย This includes ensuring valuable contributions to our partner-teams.
ย  ย Attend maintenance meetings and provide daily operations coordination for Control Centre by proving information and optimization for CCAs to execute on at the consoles as well as understand outage impacts and Oil Movements efficiencies and changes.
ย  ย Provide business hours customer service for Internal/External customers.
ย  ย Maintain the quality of the Reliability Report and evaluate current operational performance and provide strategic plans for improvements.
ย  ย Support Projects by giving contributions at meetings and ensuring the project plan execution by supporting the CCA's SME role.
ย  ย Attendance at operations meetings - such as Integrity planning, rate testing, abnormal operations and situations.
ย  ย Attendance at HAZOPs, Process Safety meetings and Incident Reviews. This may include determining corrective actions and working to implement them.
ย  ย Application of Alarm Management changes and improvements.
ย  ย Provide direction and guidance to internal teams to achieve performance targets.
ย  ย Identify problems in operations process and resolve them in quickly and timely manner.
ย  ย Debrief and educate the CCO's after Emergency Preparedness exercises and/or ALM occurrences.
ย  ย Maintain all CCA training plans and development plans in cooperation with the Training Coordinator.
ย  ย Support Fatigue Management programs in the Control Centre.
ย  ย Ensure all safety, environmental concerns, regulations, and compliances are followed utilizing the appropriate IPL tools, procedures, and documents developed. As well, follow all government or regulatory bodies' regulations within the jurisdiction of the pipeline systems.
ย  ย Ensure action items from EH&S Incident, audit and inspection findings have corrective actions implemented in a timely manner. The target is zero incidents, or 100% closure on any reported findings/action items in a timely manner.
ย  ย Ensure and if necessary: develop safe work practices, procedures and job analysis.
ย  ย Utilize knowledge, tools and capabilities within the Inter Pipelines operating units to leverage this experience and knowledge to support positive changes to the Control Centre department. Ensure the Control Centre provides knowledge and support to most importantly our internal IPL customers and departments, but as well lend our knowledge and experience to projects or external customers that may impact business.
ย  ย Using the Work Order tools, ensure all documents are approved, planned and completed through the proper process and in a timely manner. Follow AMR initiatives.

Education, Skills and Experience

ย  ย 5-10 years of Control Centre, pipeline operations, or related industry experience.
ย  ย Demonstrated leadership experience in a Control Centre, operations, or supervisory capacity.
ย  ย Strong knowledge of pipeline operations, emergency response practices, and operational risk management.
ย  ย Experience working within a regulated environment with a focus on safety and compliance.
ย  ย Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
ย  ย Ability to prioritize competing demands and perform effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
ย  ย Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
ย  ย Creates an inclusive and respectful work environment where diverse perspectives are valued and employees feel empowered to contribute
ย  ย Proficiency with operational systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

Hours

ย  ย 5-and-4 rotational schedule consisting of 12-hour shifts
ย  ย Non overtime eligible
ย  ย As a condition of employment, commute to work must be safe, lawful and not to exceed 50 minutes of total travel time to or from the work location.
