Job Description
General Functions :
This key position oversees and performs specialized semi-skilled and technical work throughout the Parks & Recreation Division. Duties are determined by area of assignment.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Chemical Spray Foreman and is reviewed through meetings, conferences, reports, and results achieved.
This is an on-site position with no option for remote work
This position requires a Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) . Applicants without a CDL will not be considered.
Representative Duties/Assignments :
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
Tree Technician
  • Removes dangerous or hazardous trees by using appropriate tools and safety procedures to cut, trim, or fallen trees.
  • Supervises Parks Specialist duties.
  • Inspects tree conditions and identifies tree removal.
  • Assists with coordinating contractual tree care and maintenance.
  • Assists supervision in planning the Reforestation program.
  • Maintains tree care equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in the assigned specialization area. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) . Applicants without a CDL will not be considered.
Must possess and maintain a Certification from the International Society of Arboriculture as a Certified Arborist, or obtain within six (6) months of hire.
