Job description

THE DRIPBaR Calgary

Love nursing but looking for something a little different?

THE DRIPBaR Calgary is looking for an energetic, confident and personable Registered Nurse – IV Specialist to join our team. This isn't your typical nursing environment. You'll work in a modern health and wellness setting where you can use your clinical skills, build relationships with clients, and play an important role in creating an exceptional DRIPBaR experience.

If you're an RN who is great with IVs, loves working with people, enjoys health and wellness, and wants to have some fun at work, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As an IV Specialist, you'll combine excellent nursing care with an outstanding client experience. The position includes IV and IM preparation, venipuncture, client monitoring, documentation and maintaining the infusion environment.

  • Start, monitor and discontinue peripheral IVs while keeping clients comfortable throughout their treatment.
  • Prepare and administer IV vitamin infusions and IM injections using appropriate clinical techniques.
  • Perform venipuncture and other approved nursing procedures.
  • Assess clients, review health histories and treatment plans, and document nursing care appropriately.
  • Monitor clients throughout their infusion and respond appropriately to questions or concerns.
  • Educate clients about their treatments, including ingredients, purpose and potential side effects.
  • Work collaboratively with prescribers and other healthcare professionals.
  • Prepare and appropriately label IV and IM preparations according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate clinical, treatment and compounding records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and professional IV treatment environment.
  • Help manage IV supplies, medications and inventory.
  • Follow established clinical protocols and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist with client scheduling, forms and other client-service needs when required.
  • Help ensure our clients have an amazing experience every time they visit.
  • Learn about the different services available at THE DRIPBaR and confidently educate clients about other wellness options that may interest them.

Who We're Looking For

Clinical skills are important—but personality matters too.

We're looking for an RN who is confident and highly skilled at starting IVs, outgoing and comfortable talking with clients, passionate about health and wellness, highly organized, dependable, positive and professional.

You'll need to be comfortable working independently while also being part of a collaborative team. You should be able to multitask, solve problems, adapt when the day changes, and maintain excellent attention to detail in a busy, high-energy environment. These qualities align with the original position's emphasis on strong venous-access skills, autonomy, organization, adaptability and client-centred care. Most importantly, we want someone who genuinely enjoys taking care of people and creating a great experience.

What You'll Need

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse licence in Alberta
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum of 2 years of infusion experience required, having performed no less than 15,000 IV sticks
  • Previous experience administering IV infusion therapy
  • Strong peripheral IV and venous-access skills
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Excellent communication and client-service skills
  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently within your professional scope of practice
  • Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as required

Why THE DRIPBaR Calgary?

This is an opportunity to use your nursing skills in a fresh, modern and growing health and wellness environment.

You'll get to know your clients, work alongside a fun and motivated team, expand your knowledge of IV vitamin therapy and wellness services, and be part of building THE DRIPBaR Calgary from the ground up.

We're looking for people who want to bring their clinical expertise, personality and positive energy to work.

Great IV skills? Love people? Interested in health and wellness? You might be exactly who we're looking for.

Come join THE DRIPBaR Calgary team and help us make wellness a little more fun.
