Job description

Position Overview
Innovative Therapeutic Services (ITS) is seeking a Contractual Neuropsychologist (As-Needed) to provide comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children and adolescents in juvenile detention centers. The neuropsychologist will focus on assessing cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and neurological functioning to support treatment planning, academic achievement, and successful reintegration of youth.
This is a contractual, as-needed role with flexible scheduling based on site needs. The primary service location is a juvenile detention facility in Cheltenham, Maryland. The selected provider may also have opportunities to provide coverage at additional facilities in Baltimore City and Baltimore County as needed, based on organizational needs and provider availability.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations assessing cognitive abilities, executive functioning, attention, memory, language, and learning challenges.
  • Diagnose conditions including ADHD, learning disorders, traumatic brain injury, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Prepare detailed written reports and recommendations to inform treatment plans, special education services, and reentry planning.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in compliance with all regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support individualized treatment approaches.
Education, Licensure & Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical, counseling, or school psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology.
  • Licensed in Maryland and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a neuropsychologist.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in juvenile detention center settings.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, adolescent development, and juvenile justice populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications; excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to work independently in a structured environment.
  • Willing to complete federal and local background checks
  • Flexibility, strong organizational skills, creativity, and self-sufficiency.
