CRNA Opportunity At Gulf Coast Medical Center

Gulf Coast Medical Center, located in Ft. Myers, Florida, is the largest hospital in the Lee Health system. It houses the only Level II Trauma Center between Bradenton and Miami, a Neuroscience Institute, orthopedic, oncology, and cardiology services, and much more. Gulf Coast is a 624-bed hospital with 22 Operating Rooms.

Awards include being named Top 250 Hospital nationwide by Healthgrades, receiving an "A" grade for patient safety by The Leapfrog Group, and being designated as a Gold Plus Stroke Center by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. It is also featured in U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals.

Case assignments include general, endo, ortho, vascular, neuro, GYN, urology, radiology, and ENT. Shifts are available, and team leadership is provided by Andrew Conrad, Chief CRNA.

Our group's annual anesthesia volume is nearly 20,000 cases, and we work together in a care team model that focuses on giving everyone a voice, while supporting, respecting, and helping them to deliver care excellence.

Responsibilities include pre-anesthesia assessment, obtaining and/or verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with the patient, induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, monitoring of the patient's physiological condition, and performance of clinical intervention as needed.

Requirements include a current license as a registered professional nurse, graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education, and certification or recertification by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.

Fort Myers, FL, on the coast of Southwest Florida, offers pristine nature preserves, wild waterways, beaches, art and culture, and plenty of retail and dining options. Play on the sand and dive into the water at Bowditch Point Park and Bunche Beach Preserve, launch a kayak on the Great Calusa Blueway Paddling Trail, and fish the Gulf of Mexico. Shop the massive Gulf Coast Town Center and Edison Mall, check out the spring training homes of the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins, and visit the area's museums.

Area attractions include Edison and Ford Winter Estates, Manatee Park, Bowditch Point Park and Bunche Beach Preserve, and colleges and schools such as Three Oaks Elementary School, Rayma C. Cost of living includes no state income tax. Total rewards include a 1099 hourly rate of $150.
