Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accounting Specialist II to support the financial management of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects throughout the project lifecycle. This role is responsible for project setup, cost tracking, billing, revenue recognition support, subcontract and vendor payment processing, financial reporting, and project closeout activities.


Project Accounting 

  • Set up new projects, phases, cost codes, and billing structures within the ERP system.  
  • Maintain project financial records throughout the project lifecycle.  
  • Review project costs to ensure proper coding and accounting treatment.  
  • Monitor project expenditures and identify discrepancies requiring correction.  
  • Reconcile project costs, commitments, purchase orders, and subcontract balances.  
  • Process project cost transfers and journal entries as needed.  
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting close activities.  
  • Support project financial audits and internal compliance reviews.  

Billing & Revenue 

  • Prepare and process customer invoices in accordance with contract requirements.  
  • Support progress billing, milestone billing, lump sum billing, and time-and-material billing.  
  • Review billing documentation for completeness and contractual compliance.  
  • Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts as needed.  
  • Support revenue recognition in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.  
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to resolve billing issues and customer inquiries.  

Financial Reporting 

  • Prepare weekly and monthly project financial reports.  
  • Analyze project costs, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material expenditures.  
  • Support project forecasting by providing accurate financial information.  
  • Assist with cash flow reporting and project profitability analysis.  
  • Work closely with Project Controls to reconcile cost reports and financial forecasts.  
  • Identify cost trends and communicate financial risks to project leadership.  

Project Support 

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Procurement, Contracts, and Project Controls to ensure financial accuracy.  
  • Review subcontractor invoices and vendor payment requests.  
  • Assist with contract modifications, change orders, and financial documentation.  
  • Maintain project files and financial documentation in accordance with company policies.  
  • Support project closeout activities, including final billings, cost reconciliation, and financial reporting.  
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Perform additional accounting and finance duties as assigned.  

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.  
  • 3–5 years of accounting or project accounting experience, preferably supporting EPC, construction, industrial, utility, or engineering projects.  
  • Strong understanding of project accounting principles, job cost accounting, and financial reporting.  
  • Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously.  
  • Knowledge of billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.  
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience supporting engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects.  
  • Knowledge of percentage-of-completion and cost-to-cost accounting methods.  
  • Familiarity with project controls and cost reporting.  
  • Experience with contract review, change orders, and subcontract accounting.  
  • Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) or other accounting certifications are a plus.
