Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time clinical psychologist to join our Anxiety and Mood Disorder Service at our One Park Ave location. The Child Study Center is part of NYU Langone’s Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, one of only two independent child and adolescent psychiatry departments within an academic medical center in the nation.

This role requires proficiency in cognitive-behavioral therapy, parent management training, and diagnostic evaluation of anxiety, mood, and related disorders. Our patient population spans the full pediatric age range, and candidates should be comfortable treating children as young as 5, as well as adolescents and young adults.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated clinician committed to clinical and academic excellence, with enthusiasm for outpatient practice and comfort treating children, adolescents, and young adults. Candidates should be interested in contributing to the continued growth of the Anxiety and Mood Disorder Service by supporting ongoing programming and helping to develop innovative approaches to treating anxiety, mood, and related disorders in youth. Experience working with youth presenting with eating-related concerns (e.g., ARFID, anorexia nervosa, bulimia, etc.) is also preferred.

The role also includes opportunities to lead group therapy and conduct workshops for parents, school personnel, and community providers. Availability for late afternoon and evening appointments is required. This position reports jointly to the Clinical Director of the Autism Service and the Clinical Director of the Anxiety and Mood Disorder Service.

Work Schedule

The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry supports a hybrid work arrangement. This position includes dedicated onsite space at our Manhattan office, with a structured onsite/remote schedule determined by clinical needs and space availability.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver evidence-based treatments to children, adolescents, adults and their families
  • Maintain timely and accurate completion of medical records
  • Offer evening hours as needed to ensure access to appropriate clinical care
  • Fulfill on-call and coverage responsibilities
  • Provide teaching and supervision of psychology, psychiatry, and social work trainees assigned by the Clinical Director of the Child Study Center
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and contribute to individualized treatment planning
  • Participate in continuing education, including weekly Case Conferences and Grand Rounds
  • Participate in 2-3 direct activities that support our department’s mission to disseminate evidence-based information, including providing Child Study Center parent workshops, writing for the website, speaking on DoctorRadio and/or equivalent annually
  • Participate in research activities when appropriate
  • Adhere to the code of ethics of your professional organization and the medical center
