Job description

Overview
Working across the globe, V2X builds smart solutions designed to integrate physical and digital infrastructure from base to battlefield. We bring 120 years of successful mission support to improve security, streamline logistics, and enhance readiness. Aligned around a shared purpose, our $3.9B company and 16,000 people work alongside our clients, here and abroad, to tackle their most complex challenges with integrity, respect, responsibility, and professionalism.
The MRP Planner owns the delivery commitment and planning execution for assigned programs. The role reviews daily MRP output and the 0-90 day planning horizon, acts on exception messages, confirms material support for planned orders, and resolves material shortages so each program stays on track to its contractual delivery date. The MRP Planner owns the long-range planned-order horizon and hands short-term release decisions to Production Scheduling, which sequences and releases work to the floor. Program-office communication runs through program coordination, and systemic cross-program issues escalate to the MDO Planning Lead. The role sits within MDO Integrated Planning and coordinates closely with Production Scheduling, Material Control, Supply Chain, program coordination, and the production floor.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and protect delivery commitments for assigned programs. Own the program-level plan, review the 0-90 day horizon, identify material risks, capacity conflicts, and demand changes, and keep assigned programs on track to contractual delivery.
  • Action MRP exception messages. Review net-change and regenerative MRP output for assigned programs, act on near-term exceptions (reschedule in/out, cancel, expedite), and escalate systemic cross-program patterns to the MDO Planning Lead.
  • Manage the planned-order horizon and purchase requisitions. Review planned orders eligible for release in the long-range horizon and confirm material support before handing short-term release decisions to Production Scheduling. Release or reject MRP-generated purchase requisitions after validating quantity, date, and source.
  • Resolve material shortages. Work material shortages and supplier delays directly with Supply Chain to keep released orders covered, initiating purchase requisitions or expedite requests when there is no stock. Escalate to program coordination when a shortage cannot be resolved with Supply Chain, and assess delivery impact once the supplier issue is resolved.
  • Maintain demand-signal and data accuracy. Validate that SAP demand signals reflect program-office intent, flag implausible routings and recurring rework BOMs to engineering, and keep planned orders and planning parameters accurate so the plan stays stable.
  • Participate in planning cadence and escalate obstacles. Take part in the Tier 1B planner sync and the Tier 2 weekly planning review with program priority context prepared in advance, and escalate through program coordination when program-office pressure needs a manager-level response.

Qualifications
Required Skills:
  • Three or more years of MRP, material planning, or production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience working MRP exception messages, managing planned orders, and resolving material shortages against demand. Defense, aerospace, or other regulated high-mix/low-volume environment experience is a plus.

Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business, industrial/manufacturing, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM certification preferred, not required.

Skills & Technology Used:
  • Proficiency with SAP S/4HANA PP/MRP, including daily work in MD06 and MD04. Strong Excel skills for analysis and tracking.
  • Ability to read and interpret bills of material and routings, with a working understanding of MRP logic (net-change and regenerative runs). Cross-functional coordination with scheduling, supply chain, material control, and the floor. Discipline around data accuracy and demand-signal stability.
