The Mathematics Instructional Coach provides content-specific instructional coaching and support to teachers in grades 3–10 to strengthen the implementation of effective, standards-aligned mathematics instruction. This position partners directly with teachers to improve instructional practices, strengthen mathematical content knowledge, analyze student performance, and implement strategies that increase student engagement, conceptual understanding, proficiency, and academic growth.

Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to residents of Florida.

About the Opportunity
  • Provide individualized and small-group instructional coaching to mathematics teachers in grades 3–10.
  • Support teachers in planning and implementing rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics instruction.
  • Model effective instructional practices and provide actionable feedback to strengthen classroom instruction.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop effective lessons, instructional strategies, and interventions based on student needs.
  • Support teachers in developing students' conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Assist teachers in using student data and assessment results to identify learning gaps and adjust instruction.
  • Support teachers in differentiating instruction and providing appropriate scaffolds and interventions for diverse learners.
  • Facilitate professional learning, collaborative planning, and content-specific coaching sessions.
  • Support effective implementation and use of adopted mathematics curriculum, instructional resources, manipulatives, and digital learning tools.
  • Partner with teachers to develop strategies that increase student engagement, mathematical discourse, perseverance, and academic achievement.
  • Monitor instructional trends and student outcomes to identify areas for continued coaching and professional development.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and instructional teams to support schoolwide academic goals and priorities.
  • Maintain documentation of coaching support, teacher progress, and instructional needs.
  • Participate in professional development and remain current on research-based mathematics instructional practices.
About You

  • Five or more years of experience in education with demonstrated experience or expertise in mathematics instruction.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics standards, curriculum, assessment, and research-based instructional practices.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical content and instructional progression across elementary, middle, and early high school grades.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting teachers preferred.
  • Strong ability to analyze student achievement data and translate findings into instructional action.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide constructive, actionable feedback and build positive professional relationships with teachers.
  • Comfortable using instructional technology, student data systems, and virtual learning platforms.
  • Committed to continuous improvement, teacher development, and student achievement.
