About the role
The Procurement Specialist role will be based out of Niagara Falls, NY and support multiple Reworld sites within the NY/PA area. The Procurement role in our facilities contributes to Reworld's success by effectively leading, developing and executing product and services sourcing strategies for the assigned facilities. The position implements the facility procurement process such that all applicable policies, procedures and regulations are maintained. The position is responsible for the coordination of all procurement activities, ensuring that programs, initiatives, cost reduction, FPP goals, corporate social responsibility and plant/regional/corporate synergies are achieved. The position manages suppliers and internal networks to deliver best in class performance for all spend categories while consistently delivering measurable results to achieve a competitive advantage for top line and bottom-line facility growth. The position collaborates effectively internally and with suppliers, develops effective negotiation strategies in conjunction with Corporate Procurement, and communicates with other Reworld procurement professionals, interfacing closely with Corporate and Regional Procurement Management. The position reports to the Regional Procurement Manager with a strong dotted line to the Facilities Management Team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Procurement Specialist is primarily responsible for managing the local/regional Procurement process in accordance with established Reworld procedures and policies. This role owns all facility Procurement activities from Supplier qualification through performance management and will be responsible for all related supplier onboarding activities as well as assuring compliance with all governmental regulations, company policies and acceptable business practices. The Specialist develops effective working relationships with Facility Operations, Engineering and Maintenance teams and acts as advisor for all contractual rights and obligations.
Specific accountabilities Include (but are not limited to):
  • Supplier qualification and relationship management
  • Request for Proposal (RFP), Bid receipt, market comparisons, evaluation and analysis and clarifications.
  • Identify Global sourcing opportunities based on the maintenance plan and make sure the project timeline is in line with the facility installation schedule.
  • Coordinating and participating in bid conferences/walk downs.
  • Finalization activities (negotiations, awarding of contracts, follow-up, management, and dispute resolutions)
  • Purchase orders, Approval, placement and expediting for all the sites.
  • Administration of cost reduction and supplier quality assurance programs
  • Performance Analysis and compliance oversight of suppliers/vendors to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts.
  • Compiling data for preparing cost reporting in support of the annual budgeting process.
  • Providing site training and instruction of all personnel for Procurement systems
  • Management of supplier interface, strengthening the supplier data base through the use of supplier visits and technical conferences
  • Attending Corporate and regional Procurement meetings and conferences as required
  • Directing and coordinating the activities of facility personnel who are engaged in formulating requests for proposals for the facility.
  • Sourcing maintenance spare parts from other Reworld facilities to maintain the corporate inventory pool to an optimum level between facilities who share common spare parts.
  • Collaborate with storekeepers and Procurement associates to identify savings opportunities.
  • Ensure the company policies and procedures are implemented and followed by the buyers, storekeepers, and procurement associates.
  • Manage the P-card spend and reconcile weekly.
  • Schedule Weekly meetings with the staff, Monthly Open PO review with the site, and Match exemption reports with AP.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Education:
A bachelor's degree is required; preferably Supply Chain, Finance, or technical discipline.
MBA,CPSM, and PMP certification are highly desired, but not required.
Experience:
5-7+ years of procurement and supply management experience is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Comfort in working between office and highly industrial environments (heat, odor, etc....)
  • High level of safety awareness and championship
  • Strength in developing respectful partnerships with both key stakeholders as well as suppliers.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills with an ability to make decisions based on data and trends.
  • Understanding of regional labor markets related to labor subcontracting and contract services a plus.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) is required with knowledge of PeopleSoft ERP (or SAP) and Project based planning tools like MS Project strongly preferred.
  • An ability to develop and report key performance indicators (KPIs) as well as site-level processes where needed.
  • An understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling, contracts, and change management
  • Strength in communicating crucial information to a variety of audiences with differing levels of expertise.
  • The ability to effectively conduct facility tours and walk-downs on a regular basis.
  • Travel approximately 30% on a semi-regular basis (may include overnight travel)

Pay Transparency
Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $91,200.00 - $121,400.00 USD per annum
