Job description

Our client is one of North America's most prominent and respected electrical contractors. Backed by a 70-year legacy of engineering excellence and the immense resources of a premier parent organization, their Energy Group delivers landmark projects from the field to the grid-ranging from massive utility-scale solar farms and battery storage facilities to complex substations and high-profile data centers. We are seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to take full, cradle-to-grave ownership of major energy infrastructure projects in the Gary, Indiana region. Reporting directly to the Project Executive, this role demands a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a genuine passion for mentoring and developing professional teams. What's in it for You? Elite Compensation: Top-tier base salary complemented by an excellent annual performance bonus plan and a comprehensive, robust benefits package. True Autonomy & Impact: Lead massive, high-profile projects spanning thousands of acres, armed with best-in-class tools and substantial internal backing. Leadership Scope: Move beyond just managing field crews-you will directly manage, mentor, and shape the career paths of professional project staff. Corporate Stability: Enjoy the backing of a financially robust powerhouse that prioritizes safety, inclusion, and cutting-edge sustainable practices. Key Responsibilities Full Lifecycle Management: Lead projects seamlessly from qualification, estimating, and pre-construction planning through mobilization, field execution, and financial closeout. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Direct and develop professional on-site staff (including Project Managers, Assistants, and Engineers), defining roles and establishing high-performing communication structures. Field & Contractual Alignment: Partner closely with Project Superintendents and field teams to ensure all contractual agreements are delivered safely, profitably, and to the highest professional standards. Financial Control: Oversee project cost accounting, material procurement, productivity tracking, and strict bottom-line reporting methods. Key Requirements: 8+ years of total related experience 5 years explicitly at the Project Manager level executing heavy electrical construction or related utility/infrastructure activities. 2 years of experience directly managing professional staff (e.g., APMs, Project Engineers, or Project Managers).
