Job description

Summary/Objective:

The Installation Technician is responsible for performing skilled installation work on both new construction sites and in completed spaces. This role requires a solid understanding of construction practices, proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, and the willingness to learn and work with a variety of commercial window treatment products.

Essential Functions

  • Execute daily installation tasks as directed by the Lead Installer, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned work.
  • Communicate effectively with the Lead Installer and fellow team members to maintain smooth workflow and on-site coordination.
  • Install a range of commercial window treatment systems, including vertical blinds, horizontal blinds, manual and motorized shades, and associated hardware.
  • Safely operate standard hand and power tools, including drills, screwdrivers, laser levels, hammers, and measuring tapes.
  • Read and interpret basic architectural blueprints to support accurate installations.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and attention to detail to ensure the quality and timely completion of work.
  • Ensure all work meets company standards for quality, timeliness, and compliance with project objectives.
  • Maintain and manage a daily punch list, providing progress updates to the Operations Department.
  • Lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds overhead; assist in both single-person and team-based installations.
  • Work safely on ladders and elevated platforms, with heights up to 50 feet as required.
  • Follow and promote the company’s “Safety First” philosophy by adhering to safety protocols and reporting any unsafe practices or conditions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position. Workdays and hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a 40-hour workweek and possible overtime opportunities. 

Travel Requirements:

This position primarily involves local travel during standard business hours. Occasional out-of-area or overnight travel may be required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience as a junior carpenter or window treatment installer is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools and a strong desire to learn various products and installation techniques from multiple manufacturers.
  • OSHA 10 certification is preferred. Training can be provided if necessary.

  • Participation in E-Verify for employment eligibility verification
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check is required.
