Job Description

Worthington & Shagen Custom Builder, Inc. is seeking an experienced Renovation Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter or technician with strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently while representing the company professionally in clients' homes and on active projects.


The Renotavtion Technician will perform a wide variety of service, repair, and carpentry-related tasks while maintaining high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and communication. This position requires someone who can quickly assess issues, explain possible solutions clearly, and complete work efficiently and effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Perform service, repair, and maintenance work on residential construction projects
  • Assess issues and determine practical, effective solutions
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and the Service Project Manager
  • Plan and coordinate schedules with the Service Project Manager
  • Document completed work, client requests, and project details for regular review
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
  • Deliver high-quality carpentry work as needed, including:
  • Jobsite setup and upkeep
  • Framing and construction sequencing
  • Door and window installation
  • Exterior trim, cornice, and siding installation
  • Interior trim and specialty finish installation
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
  • Manage time effectively and make sound decisions in the field
  • Transport materials and equipment to jobsites as needed using a company vehicle when available


Qualifications

  • Mid- to high-level carpentry or service/warranty technician experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction practices and processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
  • Knowledge and abilities outside of traditional carpenter work (ie: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.) is preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
