Job description

Overview
We are seeking skilled DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) Designers and Senior Designers to join our team. In this role, you will design and generate DAS/ERRCS/low-voltage RF system drawings, perform RF modeling, prepare technical submittals, RFI's, and closeout documents.
Responsibilities
Designing and/or drafting complete DAS and ERRCS (Emergency Responder Radio Communication Systems) shop drawings for multi-family, high-rise, military, healthcare, and commercial facilities.
• Conduct RF modeling, heat mapping, link budget creation, and predictive coverage analysis using industry-standard tools.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Account Executives to complete accurate DAS designs and prepare submittals in a timely and professional manner.
• Prepare documentation required by AHJs including RF test plans, grid testing documentation, commissioning reports, and product data sheets.
• Manage and update electronic and physical engineering libraries including job folders, equipment manuals, technical data sheets, brochures, and templates.
• Apply company and National CAD/BIM standards to all shop drawings.
• Research code requirements and resolve design problems through evaluation of multiple technical solutions.
• Coordinate designs with electrical engineers, GCs, low-voltage trades, RF vendors, and building owners to ensure a complete and compliant system.
• Read and interpret blueprints, RF reports, site surveys, specifications, schematics, and manufacturer installation manuals.
• Identify out-of-scope work and design gaps based on contract documents, proposals, plans, and specifications.
• Recommend value-engineered solutions for efficient and code-compliant DAS designs.
• Respond to questions, solutions, and RFI-related items regarding DAS design in a timely and professional manner.
• Effectively communicate project milestones, issues, and needs to management.
• Perform document control tasks such as printing, downloading, and filing.
• Perform material and equipment take-offs from plans.
• Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.
Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills including a solid background in AutoCAD is required; Revit experience is highly preferred.
    • Familiarity with IFC, NFPA 1221/1225, local AHJ DAS code requirements, FCC rules, and building codes related to RF/ERRCS systems.
    • Experience with RF modeling tools such as iBwave is strongly desired.
    • Industry certifications such as iBwave Level 1-3, GROL, NICET, or related RF/telecom certifications are preferred.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and related design software.
    • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
    • Self-motivated, organized, able to multitask, and capable of managing deadlines with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to independently take initiative to complete projects accurately and on time.
    • Applicants must meet background and driving record requirements.
