Key Responsibilities:- Architect and implement cross-layer telemetry systems spanning hardware, embedded systems, control software, and cloud infrastructure.
- Define standardized health metrics and system observability frameworks for complex quantum systems.
- Ensure telemetry enables effective fault detection, hard failures, transient anomalies, degradations, root cause analysis, and operational insight.
- Define and enforce system health boundaries and operational envelopes.
- Develop automated methods for monitoring, detecting, classifying, and prioritizing faults across hardware and software layers.
- Reduce operator intervention through intelligent automation and runbook codification.
- Identify systemic weaknesses and propose design improvements that enhance reliability and serviceability.
- Collaborate with product engineering to ensure reliability is designed into future systems.
YOU MUST HAVE:- Bachelor's degree minimum required
- 5+ years of industry experience working with complex hardware-software systems in development, deployment, or operational environments
- 2+ years of experience developing automation or reliability tooling using Python or scientific/engineering programming languages
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:- Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Quantum Computing, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- Experience building or working with system telemetry, monitoring, or observability frameworks
- Experience developing automation for system recovery, fault handling, or operational workflows
- Experience applying machine learning or statistical modeling to system telemetry for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, or degradation analysis
- Experience improving system reliability, availability, and MTTR in production environments
- Familiarity with quantum computing systems, cryogenic systems, or advanced hardware platforms
