Job description

Position Overview

Our team is currently looking for an ES&H Technical Analyst for one of our clients in the Mining Industry. The purpose of this role is to collect, study, and analyze project and GBU ES&H data to assist in the development and implementation of improvement efforts to support various ES&H functions in the areas of incident prevention, learning and development, Craft Based Leadership (CBL), and Six Sigma. Duties require accuracy, judgment, initiative, and understanding of relevant ES&H processes, automation tools and associated supporting computer software.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties
  • Provide assistance in a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of company's ES&H program and ES&H Management System to aid compliance with company's ES&H standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities.
  • Maintain ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions.
  • Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to help identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement. Identify and support any unique software systems and electronic innovation used by ES&H personnel. Leads teams in conducting risk assessment, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&H issues. Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention.
  • Assist with incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare incident investigation reports.
  • Recommend and implement improvements in processes, procedures, and work activities to minimize hazard potential.
  • Participate in and may lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
  • Research moderately complex issues and provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice. Provide support to ES&H field and office personnel, inclusive of all ES&H disciplines.
Qualifications (Education, Experience & Skills)
  • Requires a Bachelor’s (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience OR 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Technical knowledge of computer-based training development software.
  • Technical knowledge of Adobe Suite Desktop publishing software, SharePoint web developer, FrontPage programming code, and Flash incorporation into training products.
  • Good knowledge of computer artwork and web design packages.
  • Knowledge of learning and development systems, applications of both ES&H and automation methods, and application of computers to associated process improvement tasks.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to ES&H learning and development needs.
  • Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication and in preparing clear and comprehensive correspondence.
  • General knowledge of writing and producing training, marketing, and communication tools.
