Summary of Position
The CLS Course Instructor is a full-time, wage determination position directly responsible to the Director, Military Skills Enhancement Program whose overall duties and responsibilities are to teach, update and maintain the Combat Life Saver Course at Fort Hood Troop School and at other Army installations. Conduct special courses or briefings as required by government contract.
$24.13 per hour + $5.09WD rate
Education and Experience
Two years college or (60 credits) from a US regionally accredited institution of higher education required.
Five years military service with a minimum of two years of experience in grade of Senior NCO, Warrant Officer, or Commissioned Officer and held the MOS of 68W OR is a licensed paramedic (State of national), registered nurse physician assistant or physician.
One year experience as an instructor within the past 10 years prior to employment is preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Ability

• Must be computer literate with proficiency in Windows 7, 10 and 13.
• Must be proficient with Adobe Acrobat/Reader and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must have understanding of computer and printer networking to include knowledge of basic troubleshooting techniques.
• Must be able to pass and maintain BLS certification course with at least one year experience working with or teaching emergency medical techniques and skills procedures.
• Must have experience working as a medic (68W) or similar medical position with an in depth knowledge of full spectrum operations, regulatory requirements and emergency medicine
• Must be able to pass a background investigation or National Agency Check (NAC) in order to fulfill contractual obligations.

Essential Functions

• Instruct students in theoretical and practical aspects covering the subject being taught to include individual coaching, group discussion, lectures, demonstrations, seminars and workshops.
• Prepares instructional training programs in accordance with training deficiencies or other course requirements to include review, revise and evaluate the program of instructions, lessons plans and other training material on annual bases.
• Supervises practical work carried out by students, assisting them at points of difficulty.
• Tests students to evaluate their learning process and to evaluate effectiveness of instructions.
• Compiles assessment reports regarding each student
• Secure and control test materials, answer sheets, etc.
• Operation, maintenance and troubleshoot office automation equipment for use in the teaching process.
• Maintain the classroom in an orderly manner, conductive to instruction.
