Job description

Department: Events - Banquets & Catering
Direct Report: Director of Catering
Purpose:
The Marketing & Events Manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing initiatives that elevate brand awareness, drive revenue, and enhance the guest experience while overseeing the planning and execution of both resort programming and assigned group meetings and events. This role bridges creativity with operational excellence, ensuring that every guest touchpoint-from digital campaigns and signature activations to corporate meetings and social events-reflects the resort's luxury coastal identity.
Serving as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments for assigned groups, this individual ensures seamless communication, operational alignment, and exceptional service delivery while meeting contractual, financial, and brand standards. The ideal candidate is equal parts marketer, storyteller, event producer, and project manager with a passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences that inspire guests to return year after year.
JOB SUMMARY:
Marketing and Communication
  • Manage the resort's content calendar across digital, social media, email marketing, website, and in-house communications.
  • Update copy for website updates, email campaigns, SMS messaging, promotional materials, and guest collateral.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, photographers, influencers, media partners, and vendors to execute campaigns.
  • Support public relations initiatives, media visits, and community partnerships that strengthen brand awareness.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all guest-facing communications and marketing materials.

Resort Programming & Activations
  • Oversee signature programming including culinary experiences, family activities, holiday events, and seasonal celebrations.
  • Coordinate event logistics including vendor management, timelines, staffing requirements, supplies, setup, and breakdown.
  • Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials to support successful execution of guest activities.
  • Work closely with front office, food and beverage, recreation, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of resort programming.

Group Meetings & Event Management
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned group meetings and events from turnover through completion.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments, ensuring clear communication and exceptional service throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Conduct pre-conference meetings, site inspections, planning calls, and other client interactions to confirm event details and expectations.
  • Prepare and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), Group Resumes, diagrams, and other event documentation to operational teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other departments to ensure operational readiness and alignment.
  • Monitor all aspects of event execution to ensure contractual obligations, financial objectives, and service standards are achieved.
  • Manage changes to event details with professionalism and urgency while maintaining accurate records and communication.
  • Review group billing, concessions, and final event details to ensure accuracy and guest satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience through thoughtful recommendations and personalized service.
  • Follow up with clients after program completion to evaluate satisfaction and identify future business opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
  • Ability to remain standing for up to 10 hours
  • Ability to remain stationary in desk/meeting environment for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to move up and down stairs occasionally
  • Ability to move quickly based on guest needs
  • Ability to regularly move and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work will primarily take place in a hotel resort, banquet and restaurant environment

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • 2+ years of experience in convention services, event management, or a similar role
  • Prior hotel, resort, or convention center experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Delphi for account management, event tracking, and reporting
  • Strong working knowledge of Opera for account management, event tracking, and reporting
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion. Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused while maintaining hospitality.
