Job Description

The Cloud Network Engineer will serve as the technical anchor for SGS's global cloud networking services, ensuring secure, reliable, and highperformance connectivity across the Azure environment. Acting as the focal point for Cloud Network Engineering activities, this role bridges architectural network design with handson operational excellence. As a Level 3 escalation expert, the engineer supports global delivery teams by driving continuous improvement across cloud networking, security, governance, and hybrid connectivity.

You will join the IT Production team, an internationally distributed organization responsible for delivering and supporting SGS's global network and cloud networking services. The team ensures resilient, scalable, and secure network operations worldwide and reports to the Global Head of Network Services. As part of this global unit, you will help operate and evolve enterprisegrade cloud network services that support SGS business operations across all regions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and continuously improve SGS's global cloud network services, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Act as the focal point for Cloud Network Engineering expertise and collaborate across IT teams, stakeholders, and global regions.
  • Support the Network Lead in implementing the global cloud network strategy and onboarding key cloud network initiatives into operations.
  • Design, deploy, optimize, and operate Azure networking services, including VNets, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway/WAF, Private Endpoints, and Virtual WAN.
  • Evaluate and leverage modern cloudnative networking technologies to enhance service performance and architecture.
  • Provide Level 3 support for cloud and hybrid network incidents, driving resolution with service providers to meet SLAs.
  • Collaborate closely with security, engineering, and integration teams to proactively resolve issues and strengthen global cloud and hybrid connectivity.
  • Support Change, Problem, and Incident Management processes and participate in governance, architecture, and planning discussions.
  • Build strong working relationships across operational and non-operational teams and uphold SGS's Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
    Qualifications
    • Tertiary or higher education in Computer EngineeringInformation Systems, or a related field.
    • Azure certification (AZ700, AZ104, or AZ305).
    • Minimum 3+ years' experience in Azure Cloud Networking in largescale environments.
    • Strong proficiency in cloud and hybrid network architectures, including Azure hub/spokeVirtual WANroutingBGPDNSnetwork security, and Zero Trust.
    • Experience integrating Azure with onpremises environments.
    • Handson experience with IaC tools (Terraform or Bicep).
    • Experience working in engineering or NOC/SOC operational environments.
    • Excellent communication skills in English and experience working with international teams.
