Position Description


ElectriCom and Isbell Construction are part of a unified team delivering reliable telecommunications and utility infrastructure across the United States. ElectriCom, founded in 1960 in Paoli, Indiana, provides high-quality aerial and underground construction and maintenance services for broadband providers, electric utilities, cooperatives, and municipalities.


Isbell Construction, established in 1985 and now operating as an ElectriCom subsidiary, strengthens this work with specialized expertise in rural fiber construction, rock excavation, trenching, long-haul installation, and complex-terrain projects throughout the Southwest.

We are seeking a CDL Driver to support a directional drill crew on telecommunications and utility construction projects. This role is responsible for transporting equipment and materials to and from job sites while supporting field operations. The position also assists with drill crew activities and may operate drilling equipment when qualified. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, and travel to job sites—including overnight out of town assignments—is required.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Operate CDL-required vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and crew to job sites
  2. Assist directional drill crew with setup, operation, and teardown of drilling equipment
  3. Support bore operations including locating, drilling, and installation activities (experience preferred)
  4. Load, secure, and unload equipment and materials in accordance with safety standards
  5. Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
  6. Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of underground and overhead utilities
  7. Assist with general labor tasks, site preparation, and clean up as needed
  8. Work outdoors in all weather and terrain conditions
  9. Travel to job sites, including overnight out of town assignments; overtime may be required
  10. Participate in required training and perform traffic control as needed

Position Requirements
  1. Valid Class A CDL required
  2. Experience driving commercial vehicles and hauling equipment
  3. Experience supporting or operating directional drill equipment preferred
  4. General knowledge of telecom or utility construction practices
  5. Strong understanding of job site safety and utility location awareness
  6. Ability to perform physical labor and assist field crews as needed
  7. Willingness to travel, including overnight assignments
  8. Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and commitment to safe work practices
