About Benny Boy Brewing

Benny Boy Brewing was founded in 2022 by husband and wife team Chelsey Rosetter and Benny Farber with the mission to create an outdoor drinking experience uniting craft beer, cider, and wine lovers in one urban Backyard. Located in historic Lincoln Heights, minutes from downtown Los Angeles, Benny Boy Brewing is LA’s first and only combined brewery & cidery. It is home to the only Tank Bar in the city, a 15-barrel production brewery, a separate cider house, and a spacious outdoor beer garden that hosts a vibrant lineup of immersive experiences. Following Old World traditions, Benny Boy Brewing produces world-class beer and dry California cider with quality ingredients straight from the farm, less processing, zero filtering, and only natural carbonation.


Role Overview

The Taproom Manager oversees daily taproom operations, leads and develops the taproom team, and implements systems to improve efficiency and guest experience. This role collaborates cross-functionally with Marketing, Production, Distribution, and Leadership to align taproom execution with company strategy.

Required Experience

● 5+ years in hospitality, including 2+ years in bar or taproom management

● Strong knowledge of craft beverages and draft systems

● Experience with financial reporting, labor optimization, and cash handling

● Proficient in POS systems, spreadsheets, and inventory tracking

● Vocational training in business, bartending, mixology, or culinary arts a plus

● Familiarity with basic accounting, personnel management, and marketing

● Required licenses and certifications for alcohol service

● Understanding of local/state alcohol and health code regulations


Responsibilities


Operational Management

● Lead day-to-day taproom operations

● Oversee opening/closing duties and assist behind the bar as needed

● Provide breaks, resolve conflicts, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment

● Coordinate with food vendors and live entertainment for day of setup and execution

● Maintain taproom ambiance (cleanliness, lighting, sound, temperature)

● Oversee AV equipment setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance for live music, events, and daily service

● Train staff on basic AV equipment use and coordinate with external vendors for technical support as needed

● Monitoring & maintaining taproom equipment in collaboration with leadership

● Manage cash/credit tips logs, deposits, bank runs

● Maintaining clean office environment Bookings & Event Execution

● Support internal events, including execution of layouts and Run of Show documents

● Manage reservation software and client communication

● Oversee private event execution via the BEO, including private vendor coordination


Administrative Duties

● Collaborate with leadership and marketing on event execution and taproom strategy

● Prepare staff schedules (Minimum 2 weeks out), manage time-off requests, call-outs, & timecards

● Update menus (physical and digital), create POS buttons for new products

● Oversee e-commerce fulfillment (Pick-up, shipping, etc.)

● Organize pickup orders and send reminders as needed

● Run and analyze Square reports for sales and operational insights

● Monitor retail performance and assist with merchandise inventory, ordering, and display refresh

● Send weekly taproom recaps to Leadership

● Book daily food vendors, enroll new food vendors, & coordinate service

● Notify weekend vendors of reservation volumes Team Leadership

● Conduct in-person and PDF pre-shifts to align team on daily goals

● Uphold policies and lead regular training sessions

● Document and standardize SOPs in coordination with leadership

● Foster morale through regular check-ins and transparent communication

● Maintain team engagement via messenger app

● Develop staff incentive program & encourage ways to increase sales

● Work on the floor, build relationships with the team and customers, and create brand affinity

● Conduct monthly one‑on‑one check‑ins with all team members and manage disciplinary actions in alignment with company policies

Special Requirements

● Must obtain Cicerone Level 1 Beer Server and ACA Level 1 Cider Guide certifications within 3 months (paid by Benny Boy)

● Ability to move 165 lb. kegs with dollies

● Moderate mental and visual attention required for manual work and operational adjustments Environmental Conditions

● The employee is subject to inside and/or outside environmental conditions.

● At times employees will need to work in refrigerated areas such as walk in coolers

● Employees will need to work around crowds and be able to deal with challenging situations involving people and their behaviors in a responsible, yet friendly manner.
