| Aspect | Contractual Biomedical Engineering Student | Biomedical Engineering Intern |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Enrolled in biomedical engineering program | Enrolled or recent graduate in biomedical engineering |
| Work Environment | Academic projects, research labs, or industry placements | Company labs, hospitals, or research facilities |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Universities, research institutions, biotech companies | Medical device companies, hospitals, biotech firms |
Both roles involve gaining practical experience in biomedical engineering, but a Contractual Biomedical Engineering Student typically works on specific projects during academic terms, often through formal agreements. An Intern may have a broader or more flexible role, often as a temporary position to gain industry exposure. The main difference lies in their employment status and the context of their work experience.
