Job Summary
The main purpose of the Research Associate, Research Assistant Professor or Research Associate Professor will be to do the following:
  • Working on the MD simulations for support one DOD project;
  • Engage and mentor students in on-campus research activities at Morgan State University.

The vision of this DOD project is to develop Light-weight Thermoelectric Nanocomposites with Low Thermal Conductivity and High Figure-of-Merit near Room-temperature. MD simulation is essential in the material developing process, and students in this project will be trained on it. This position will serve to contribute to the research and outreach components of this project, thus supporting the education and research goals of the School of Engineering.
Job Duties
  • MD simulations to support thermoelectric material development
  • Lead the preparation/training of students for summer research
  • Engage and mentor students in on-campus research activities at Morgan State University.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
  • Experience leading and managing research projects.
  • Engineering design and analysis, model development, and technology assessments.
  • Experience with intellectual property and patents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in consortium projects: multidisciplinary and multi-institution projects.
  • Experience with successful proposal/grant writing.

Required Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
  • Education Required: A Ph.D. or D.Eng. degree in (disciplines...)?
  • 3-5 years of postdoctoral research experience.

Other Preferences for Consideration
Education Preferred: An earned terminal degree In Applied Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related area.
Experience Preferred: Strong experience in MD simulation is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
