Job description

Role Overview

Kodak is looking for a Quality Manager to join our Printed Electronics team in Rochester, NY.

This is a Quality Manager position in the printed electronics organization, reporting to the VP, Printed Electronics.  The printed electronics additive manufacturing process utilizes production-scale, roll-to-roll equipment in class 1,000 and 10,000 cleanroom environments. The equipment is used for the development and manufacturing of patterned conductive films using two fundamental process blocks:  1) flexographic printing and 2) electroless copper plating.  

The scope of this position includes full ownership and oversight of the quality systems, with strong collaboration with the Operations Manager, Engineering Manager, and staff.  The right candidate will be able to ensure that the quality systems are an essential part of the process to deliver consistently high-quality printed electronics products to our customers, while driving meaningful improvements in existing processes.  
An ideal candidate will be a high-performing Quality Engineer who can establish and meet/exceed organizational objectives in quality and standards compliance.  Near term focus is maintaining QMS readiness for external IATF 16949 surveillance audits. Additionally focus on improving organization quality systems, working directly with customers to ensure compliance with their requirements and expectations.  This is a hands-on Quality Engineering role, managing quality systems for a growing manufacturing organization.

Responsibilities:
   Serve as the Quality System representative for the business for internal and external communications
   Support daily operations and quality staff in the evaluation and disposition of WIP and product. 
   Lead organization's Quality Management System: 
     a.    content knowledge leader for all elements of the QMS
     b.    provide QMS leadership to the business managers & conduct management reviews
     c.    serve as training resources for the QMS and supporting tools
     d.    design, plan, modify and implement changes to the QMS
   Assess the effectiveness of the QMS, Quality Policy and Quality Objectives, with respect to any applicable standards or regulations.  Lead organization's activities to maintain IATF 16949 certification and compliance.
   Establish organizational standards for, and ensure the maintenance and creation of, all forms and documents supporting standardized work and process conformity and related procedures
   Provide quality focus and sponsor improvements to manufacturing processes, products, and the QMS (Quality Management System). 
   Promote a culture of quality, accountability, partnership and continuous improvement across the organization
   Serve as key resource to ensure Customer Requirements are defined and translated to factory Quality Systems.
   Maintain product quality control strategies & develop new strategies as needed, including IQC, in-line QC and offline audits to ensure outgoing customer quality.  
   Work with the Engineering team to facilitate the definition, selection, implementation, and verification of new inline inspection systems as needed. 
   Work directly with the Operations Manager to evaluate compliance to processes and procedures.
   Lead in the effective resolution of quality issues through customer and supplier interactions. 
   Primary purchasing contact for supplier quality issues ensuring that the Supplier Quality Program is functioning properly.
   Monitor the customer feedback process and regularly communicate customer feedback to the organization.
   Lead the organization to meet quality performance objectives.
   Member of the Printed Electronics Leadership team, providing strategic guidance on quality risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.

Required Skills:

   Ability to work in a flexible R&D / low-volume manufacturing operation, with experience in volume manufacturing and ability to support rapid ramp-up from pilot scale to production.
   IATF16949 Lead Auditor certification through accredited training program (i.e.: AIAG) or similar certification with intent to obtain IATF 16949.
   Knowledge of common problem-solving methodologies (8D, 3Leg 5Why, Kepner-Tregoe Matrix, etc.)
   Proficiency in the following Core Tools: Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Potential Failure Mode Analysis (PFMEA); Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control Plan (APQP)
   Knowledge of quality control standards and procedures including ISO 9001: 2015 and IATF 16949:2016. Experience establishing appropriate sampling rates and validating test measurement systems to ensure customer quality is met

Desired Skills:
   Experience in roll-to-roll manufacturing, functional printing, printed electronics, or additive manufacturing.
   Experience in quality management within the automotive supply chain.
   Ability to translate customer requirements to production specifications, including identifying and implementing any product-specific process modifications.
   Experience in project management is desired.
   Demonstrated leadership in ISO or IATF certification process.

Minimum Experience Level
3 to 6 years

Educational Requirements
Minimum B.S. Degree in Math/Statistics or Engineering-ME/EE/IE or equivalent experience.
