 Curtis Lumber’s Inside Contractor Sales position is a customer-facing role which typically involves working directly with customers, contractors, and builders to provide them with the materials and support they need for their projects. This role often includes tasks such as:

  • Responsibilities:

    • Customer Engagement: Interact with potential and existing customers and contractors at the sales counter or via phone/email to understand their needs and provide solutions. Participate in preconstruction meetings and job site consultations. 
    • Product Knowledge: Having a deep understanding of building materials and products to offer expert advice. Conduct material takeoffs and provide accurate quotes. Assist customers with selecting appropriate building materials for their projects. 
    • Order Management: Processing orders, ensuring timely delivery, and managing inventory by coordinating with warehouse and delivery personnel to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Communicate with outside sales representatives on customer orders, requirements, problems or concerns and changes.
    • Relationship Building: Developing strong relationships with contractors to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the construction or building materials industry.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

    Curtis Lumber’s inside contractor sales employees are dedicated salespeople who assist customers and contractors with their projects, from start to finish. Inside contractor sales employees also heavily support our Outside Contractor Sales team to meet and exceed sales goals.

    $24 - $27 per hour starting rate depending on experience! 

    Full Time 40+ Hours per week Monday Through Friday 7am - 5pm
