Construction Estimator โ€“ Lead Preconstruction and Strategy for a Premier Florida General Contractor


Job Overview

  • Company: Saboungi Construction Inc.
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $100,000 to $120,000 per year (Plus Performance and Year-End Bonuses).
  • Location: Onsite - Central and North Florida.
  • Job/Employment Type: Full-Time.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday.
  • Project Scope: Commercial, Government, Healthcare, Education, Civil, and Marine.
  • Mandatory Licences & Certifications: None Required.


The Opportunity

You will direct the complete preconstruction and bidding lifecycle, driving strategic division expansion across Central and North Florida. This leadership role grants you direct access to ownership, providing the autonomy to scale our estimating department into a executive leadership position. You will shape our market footprint and impact profitability by securing high-value multi-sector contracts.


How You Will Make An Impact

  • Analyze complex construction documents, design plans, and technical RFPs to determine precise project requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive quantity takeoffs for structural labor, raw materials, and heavy field equipment.
  • Formulate detailed conceptual estimates and final Guaranteed Maximum Prices (GMP) across all design phases.
  • Level subcontractor proposals meticulously to verify scope alignment, pricing accuracy, and contract compliance.
  • Lead value engineering and risk analysis sessions to generate structural cost savings and project efficiencies.
  • Present final estimate packages to clients, owners, and executive stakeholders to clarify cost assumptions.
  • Train, mentor, and oversee junior estimators to ensure adherence to corporate preconstruction protocols.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of dedicated experience working as a commercial general contractor estimator.
  • Minimum of 10 years of verified hands-on experience operating within the commercial construction sector.
  • Proven experience building, managing, and leading preconstruction teams within a high-growth environment.
  • Prior experience estimating lump-sum, unit-pricing, and design-build projects for firms exceeding $50M in revenue.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced technical expertise using modern software including Bluebeam, Stack, OST, ProEst, or Sage.
  • Demonstrated history establishing and maintaining historical unit cost data and extensive regional vendor databases.
  • Strong capabilities in navigating multi-sector bids concurrently from initial invitation down to final contract buyout.
