We are seeking a full-time Project Manager at the Oklahoma City VA HCS. The Project Manager will serve as the onsite lead providing project management support in cooperation with VA staff, architects, engineers, and construction contractors.

Requirements

  • Manage all phases of assigned construction projects
  • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, subcontractors, and clients
  • Provide expert-level project and/or construction management consultation
  • Support Government inspection and quality assurance teams
  • Track project schedules; identify delays and implement corrective actions
  • Review and manage submittals, RFIs, and change orders
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and inspection records
  • Use construction management software for scheduling, tracking, reporting, and documentation

Job Specific Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture from an accredited university
  • Substitution: 14 years of directly related construction project management experience in lieu of degree

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years managing facility construction projects
  • Experience in:
  • Supervision of engineering, design, and construction teams
  • Schedule control and progress tracking
  • Cost management and budgeting
  • Full project lifecycle management 
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and coordination
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Functional Responsibility:

  • Manage technical quality, schedule, and cost across projects\
  • Provide expert consultation across technical and personnel matters
  • Maintain oversight through daily reports, inspections, and stakeholder engagement

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture preferred 
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM, PE, RA) are a plus

Communication, Language, and Software Skills

  • Ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
  • Ability to exercise good interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

Must be able to see, hear, walk, drive, climb, reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be prepared to encounter all construction site conditions, including noise, dust, heights, odors, and enclosed spaces, and be physically capable of traversing sites with unstable footing, stairs, rough terrain, adverse weather, ladders, roofs, and other mobility-challenging conditions. Must possess the physical ability to take measurements, perform tests comparing in-place work to contract requirements, and observe work activities throughout the course of construction.
