Location: Toronto, Ontario - Hybrid

BetMGM is currently recruiting for a Manager, AML Compliance to fill a temporary vacancy at our Toronto, Ontario office. This is a full-time, hybrid position, with some in-office days required.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, AML Compliance; the Manager, AML Compliance is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and oversight of the Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorist Financing (CTF) compliance program for BetMGM. This role ensures adherence to all applicable Canadian regulatory requirements, including the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA), FINTRAC guidance, and any relevant provincial gaming regulations. The Manager, AML Compliance provides leadership, conducts risk assessments, oversees investigations, and ensures BetMGM maintains a strong culture of compliance.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance the casino's AML/CTF compliance program in accordance with FINTRAC requirements.

  • Establish and update AML policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Ensure effective implementation of Know Your Customer (KYC), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and ongoing monitoring processes.

  • Monitor changes to Canadian federal and provincial regulations and ensure BetMGM remains compliant.

  • Act as a primary resource for the business groups and escalation point for suspicious activity and AML matters

  • Lead and maintain BetMGM's enterprisewide AML risk assessment.

  • Oversee customer risk rating processes and monitor highrisk accounts.

  • Manage regular provincial Regulatory deliverables

  • Supervise review of unusual player behaviour, fraud indicators, and transaction patterns.

  • Ensure processes for transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) screening are effective and up to date.

  • Develop and deliver AML/CTF training for employees and management, and maintain training records to ensure annual refresher courses are completed

  • Ensure training meets FINTRAC and provincial regulator standards.

  • Prepare reports for senior leadership and management committees, as necessary.

  • Track and implement audit remediation actions and program improvements.

  • Manage and provide coaching to AML analysts and other Compliance staff as necessary

  • Foster a strong culture of integrity, ethics, and compliance.

  • Strong leadership qualities, sound judgement, decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Confidentiality is an essential element of this job

  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred in related field (e.g. criminology, law, business, finance)

  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in Canada

  • 5+ years of experience in AML/CTF, preferably within gaming, fintech, online gambling, or financial services.

  • Strong knowledge of the PCMLTFA, FINTRAC guidelines, and Canadian AML regulatory framework.

  • Experience with transaction monitoring tools, data analysis, and case management systems.

  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and reporting skills.

  • Ability to communicate proficiently and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form

  • Must possess a knowledge of FINTRAC FWR and batch reporting

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively to members of different backgrounds and levels of experience

  • Ability to work independently, with a high-level of personal initiative and motivation.

  • Recognized AML certifications preferred (e.g. CAMS)

The compensation for this position is expected to be in the range of $107200 to $132200, including salary, vacation pay, and statutory entitlements. Actual pay will bedeterminedbased on experience and other job-related factorspermittedby law. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education,experienceand other qualifications of the successful candidate.

It is a condition of employment in this position that the employee is and remains lawfully eligible to work in Canada.
Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements
As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations. Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies.
