Job description

Job Title: Windchill Functional consultant

Location: Palm Bay, FL

Position Type: Contract

Duration: 6 / 12 Month

Work Type: Onsite

Key Responsibilities

Process Mapping & Functional Design

  • Lead as‑is / to‑be process mapping across Engineering, Change Control, Document Control, Configuration Management, and Manufacturing collaboration.
  • Define functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices aligned to PLM strategy.
  • Design Windchill+ configurations (lifecycles, workflows, soft types, attributes, UI policies, classification, search) that reflect standardized global processes.
  • Facilitate design workshops, fit‑gap analysis, and best‑practice harmonization across sites/business units.
  • Define roles, ACLs, contexts, and policies that support data governance and compliance.

CAD Integrations & Engineering Collaboration

  • Shape functional design for CAD integrations with Windchill+:
  • Creo (preferred), SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD
  • Define CAD–WTPart association strategy, family tables/variants, naming/versioning conventions, and visualization.

Change & Configuration Management

• Define change processes (ECR/ECO/ECN), routing rules, roles, and KPI tracking.

• Establish configuration management practices (baselines, effectivity, options/variants) aligned to the product model.

Data Readiness & Migration (Functional)

  • Lead data discovery and functional mapping (documents, CAD, WTParts, attributes, classifications).
  • Create data quality rules and validation scenarios; collaborate on migration cycles, UAT, and sign‑offs.

Testing, Training & Adoption

  • Build test scripts, lead UAT, and manage defect triage from a functional standpoint.
  • Develop training materials, role‑based playbooks, and conduct end‑user enablement sessions.
  • Drive change management and adoption through communications and stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Engineering degree with 10+ years in PLM functional consulting with strong focus on Windchill/Windchill+.
  • Demonstrated process mapping experience and delivery of to‑be PLM operating models.
  • Hands-on involvement in Windchill/Windchill+ implementations, preferably including greenfield or major transformation programs.
  • Proven experience with CAD integrations to Windchill (minimum: Creo; plus: SolidWorks/NX/AutoCAD).

Functional & Technical Acumen

  • Deep understanding of:
