Responsibilities

  • Complete an intensive 6–9 month on-site training program to learn equipment, procedures, and safety standards before performing independent field service work.
  • Travel approximately 40% to 60% of the time, including some weekends, to customer sites nationwide to troubleshoot, install, and repair heavy-duty crushers, conveyors, and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using schematics and blueprints, including work with 480-volt, 3-phase power, motor controls, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered equipment and machinery, including engines, drive systems, and related components.
  • Conduct pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance and repairs on industrial systems as needed.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, bills of material, and other technical documentation to determine required repair parts, tools, and services.
  • Provide direction and training to equipment operators and maintenance personnel on safety practices, equipment start-up and shut-down procedures, proper operation, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain responsibility for all hand tools and equipment needed for daily work, ensuring they are available, organized, and in good working condition.
  • Communicate electronically and verbally with customers to troubleshoot problems remotely, answer technical questions, and provide clear guidance on corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit accurate service reports, expense reports, and related documentation in a timely manner following company guidelines.
  • Obtain and maintain knowledge required to operate as a professional driver, including understanding and meeting electronic logging device (ELD) responsibilities and requirements.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs, hydraulic work, and metal fabrication tasks as needed to support customer equipment and facility needs.
  • Collaborate daily with manufacturing, engineering, and sales personnel to coordinate service activities, share technical feedback, and support ongoing product improvements.

  • Carry out preventive maintenance activities on production and support equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Perform any related duties as required or assigned to ensure the efficiency and reliability of equipment and facilities.
  • Use a company truck for local service calls and ensure safe, professional operation of the vehicle at all times.
  • Manage tools and equipment logistics, including coordinating shipment of tools to customer sites or using tools provided upon arrival.

  • Proven mechanical maintenance experience, ideally in a manufacturing maintenance environment with heavy industrial equipment.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining or repairing diesel-powered equipment or machinery, such as trucks or diesel-driven industrial systems.
  • Ability to travel regularly to customer sites (40%–60% of the time), including some weekends, to perform troubleshooting, installation, and repair work.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and bills of material to plan and execute repairs and installations.
  • Solid understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and their maintenance in an industrial setting.
  • Experience working in a dirty, hot, and noisy manufacturing environment and comfort with heavy manufacturing conditions.
  • Capability to work up to approximately 50 hours per week when needed to meet customer and production demands.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers in person, over the phone, and electronically.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing, engineering, sales, and maintenance personnel.
  • Ownership of personal maintenance tools suitable for electrical and mechanical work, with willingness to use them on-site (tools will be shipped to or provided at customer locations).
