Job description

Maxonic maintains a close and long-term relationship with our direct client. In support of their needs, we are looking for a VMware Administrator

Job Description:

Job Title: VMware Administrator

Job Type: Contract (6+ months)

Job Location: Atlanta, GA

Work Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days a week onsite or Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain a large-scale VMware vSphere environment (1000+ VMs), including vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN.
  • Perform performance monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting of complex VMware issues.
  • Implement and manage VMware High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Configure and manage virtual networking (vSwitches, distributed switches, VLANs) and storage solutions.
  • Automate VMware tasks using PowerShell and PowerCLI.
  • Ensure security compliance and implement VMware security best practices.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the VMware environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure seamless infrastructure operations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience as a VMware Administrator in large enterprise environments.
  • Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification is a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of VMware vSphere, vSAN, and related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of storage and networking concepts.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and PowerCLI.
  • Experience with VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) or similar automation tools is highly desirable.
  • Experience with VMware NSX is a plus.
  • Experience with hardware from vendors such as Dell, and HPE is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
