Manufacturing Software Systems (MSS) is seeking a Software Development Engineer who will help solve a variety of technical challenges related to manufacturing the satellites, ground equipment and associated ASICs. You will play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team

You will tackle challenging, novel situations and will have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams spanning a variety of domains: software, hardware, networks, RF, embedded, real-time, distributed as well as industrial automation systems.
Export Control : This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.
Key job responsibilities
You will design and develop manufacturing software to drive the assembly, calibration, testing, and provisioning of satellites

You will collaborate with teams from manufacturing engineering, product engineering, and security engineering to identify requirements and design manufacturing software. You will design and develop the end-to-end system capabilities required for manufacturing orchestration across factory production lines.

A day in the life
In this role as a Software Development Engineer, you will be actively engaged in developing Leo's secure manufacturing software system and orchestration software capabilities. These products enable industrial automation for the manufacturing of the Leo satellite fleet and its supporting ground equipment

You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to develop, qualify, produce, and deploy solutions and products enabling Leo's global network.

Amazon Leo Manufacturing Software Systems (MSS) team builds comprehensive software solutions, test frameworks, information systems and manufacturing test stations that power manufacturing test operations as satellites are produced. Working closely with hardware, software, and test engineering teams, MSS delivers the tools and frameworks that enable consistent test operations - from fabrication to final provisioning - across internal facilities and external contract manufacturers. The team's mission is to transform Leo's manufacturing into a repeatable, highly available, and controlled process by standardizing, automating and simplifying manufacturing test development and execution, while maintaining rigorous security and compliance standards both at internal facilities and global contract manufacturing sites.
