Job description

Job Title: Plumber - Fontana

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled plumber experienced with copper pipes, PVC, and bathroom construction from start to finish. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with framing, rough end plumbing, and installation work. This role involves inspecting modular trailers, ensuring their structural and mechanical integrity, and performing necessary repairs and refurbishments.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect modular trailer components such as chassis, tires, axels, hitches, and wiring.
  • Move between bays to inspect and replace trailer parts as needed, including tires, axels, brake pads, springs, adjusters, and hitch parts.
  • Work on trailers up to 6 axels, with a focus on 3 axel trailers.
  • Complete inspections and repairs on 4-6 trailers per day.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, preferably with OSHA 10-hour safety training.
  • Use hand and power tools for various tasks and ensure the shop is kept clean.
  • Clean and refurbish trailers, including floors, walls, counters, windows, and doors.
  • Perform carpentry repairs on floors, walls, roofing, siding, and fixtures.
  • Inspect and repair trailer brakes, hitch, axles, tires, and locks.
  • Install company signage according to guidelines.
  • Wash and prepare trailers for delivery to customers.
  • Perform rent check-ins and physical inspections of incoming units.
  • Maintain a clean working area and perform regular inventory checks and orders.
  • Attend safety meetings and provide courteous customer service.

Essential Skills

  • Plumbing experience with copper pipes and PVC.
  • Experience in bathroom construction, including framing and rough end plumbing.
  • Mechanical background, possibly from auto mechanics.
  • Safety-conscious with preference for safety training (OSHA 10-hour).
  • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Carpentry, electrical, and welding knowledge is a plus.

Work Environment

The dress code includes steel toe boots, work pants, and a t-shirt, with company-provided glasses and gloves.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
