Manufacturing Engineering Technician - CNC Process Dev

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports process development to ensure the optimization of quality, cost, and on-time delivery of products. This role is responsible for creating and improving CNC process steps through CNC programming, set-up and prove out. Collaboration with cross-functional teams within EMS is a critical element of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop CNC processes while developing special tooling and fixturing.
  • Utilize CAD/CAM software (such as Mastercam) to develop CNC programs for new products and improve existing processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Operations to determine the Process Development timeline – including machine availability.
  • Develop the set-up process/documentation to ensure seamless transfer to Operations and ensure minimal changeover cycles.
  • Ensure process is successful through quality, time and cost expectations prior to handing over to Operations.
  • Manage DNC files within the Customer DMR ensuring accessibility and security.
  • Contributes to project milestone completion and failure to achieve results or erroneous recommendations may cause delays in project commitments and erode Customer confidence.
  • Support the EMS Quality Policy and Objectives governed by FDA regulations & ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree (GED) with 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. 1+ years of programming experience is required.
  • Must demonstrate experience using at least one of the CNC Programming software, such as Mastercam, Part-maker or Esprit.
  • Must demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of CNC machining capabilities, tooling and fixture design and setup optimization.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate in a team environment – value other’s ideas and experience.
  • Must demonstrate ability to solve problems of various technical complexity.
  • Must exhibit good communication skills (verbal and written) including effective interactions with personnel within and outside the organization.
  • Works well under pressure, organized and able to attain results on several projects simultaneously.
  • Experience understanding proper documentation/quality requirements for a regulated environment.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 40 lbs.
