Job description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students with this short-term, onsite audiology assignment. This contract opportunity spans late August through Thanksgiving break, providing crucial educational support across a local district. You'll collaborate closely with educators, families, and clinical professionals, ensuring every student receives the individualized attention and care they deserve.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct educationally focused audiological assessments and DHH-specific evaluations
  • Partner with clinical audiologists and ENT providers for comprehensive medical documentation and technology clearances
  • Support families as they follow up with clinical recommendations
  • Translate evaluation findings for parents, teachers, and school teams, empowering effective communication and learning
  • Consult on the educational impacts of hearing loss and participate in IEP or 504 planning
  • Engage with the Early On Team to serve children from birth up to age 3, including occasional home visits
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) or Master's in Audiology
  • Current Michigan Audiology License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
  • Demonstrated experience-ideally 3-5 years working with pediatric and/or school-based audiology
  • Deep understanding of support for DHH youth in educational settings
  • Strong communication and consultative abilities with families, staff, and healthcare providers
