Position Summary

LOGMET LLC is seeking an experienced UH-60 Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) to support aviation operations at U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona. The Maintenance Test Pilot will perform maintenance test flights, functional check flights, aircraft evaluations, and related flight operations on UH-60 Black Hawk aircraft.

The successful candidate will possess extensive UH-60 aviation experience, a strong understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures, and demonstrated experience evaluating aircraft airworthiness following maintenance, repair, modification, or inspection.

The MTP will work closely with aircraft maintenance personnel, quality control, production control, government representatives, and flight operations personnel to ensure assigned aircraft are maintained and operated safely and in accordance with applicable Army regulations, technical manuals, maintenance test flight procedures, and contractual requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Maintenance Test Flights (MTFs) and functional check flights on UH-60A/L/M aircraft following maintenance, modification, repair, inspection, or component replacement.
  • Determine aircraft airworthiness and verify that aircraft systems operate within established limits and specifications.
  • Conduct preflight planning, aircraft inspections, crew briefings, maintenance test flights, post-flight inspections, and flight debriefings.
  • Identify, document, and communicate aircraft discrepancies discovered during maintenance test flights.
  • Evaluate aircraft systems, including engines, drivetrain, rotor systems, flight controls, hydraulics, electrical systems, avionics, and related mission equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and assist maintenance personnel in isolating aircraft system discrepancies.
  • Review aircraft logbooks, maintenance records, inspection documentation, and applicable technical data before flight.
  • Ensure maintenance test flights are conducted in accordance with applicable Army regulations, aircrew training requirements, technical manuals, maintenance test flight manuals, and safety procedures.
  • Coordinate flight requirements with maintenance, production control, quality control, operations personnel, and government representatives.
  • Provide technical expertise regarding UH-60 aircraft operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and airworthiness.
  • Participate in aircraft ground runs and operational checks as required.
  • Conduct aircraft acceptance or evaluation flights when authorized and required by the contract.
  • Maintain required flight records, training documentation, currency, and proficiency.
  • Participate in aviation safety programs, risk-management activities, and mission planning.
  • Support accident-prevention and foreign-object-damage prevention programs.
  • Ensure compliance with company, customer, Army, DoD, FAA, and installation safety requirements applicable to assigned operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to pilots, maintainers, and other aviation personnel when required.
  • Perform other aviation-related duties necessary to accomplish contract requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of the U.S. Army UH-60 Maintenance Test Pilot Course or a U.S. Army-approved equivalent.
  • Qualified or previously qualified as a UH-60 Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP).
  • Demonstrated flight experience in UH-60A, UH-60L, and/or UH-60M Black Hawk aircraft.
  • Thorough knowledge of UH-60 aircraft systems, operating limitations, emergency procedures, maintenance procedures, and maintenance test flight requirements.
  • Experience performing maintenance test flights following scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret Army aviation maintenance technical manuals, maintenance test flight manuals, inspection requirements, and aircraft records.
  • Ability to communicate aircraft discrepancies clearly to maintenance and government personnel.
  • Strong understanding of aviation safety and operational risk management.
  • Must meet applicable Army and contract flight physical requirements.
  • Must maintain required pilot qualifications, currency, and proficiency.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required installation access and security credentials.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen when required by the contract.



Requirements

  • Graduate of the U.S. Army Maintenance Test Pilot Course
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Army Aviation service
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Maintenance Test Pilot
  • Minimum of 1,000 flight hours as Pilot in Command (PIC)
  • Current FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Rotorcraft rating and Instrument endorsement
  • Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate
