Job description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to join our team in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois on a Contract basis. This position is responsible for guiding the full receivables cycle, ensuring invoices are processed accurately, payments are applied correctly, and outstanding balances are addressed promptly. The role works closely with finance, operations, and customer-facing teams to improve cash flow, strengthen reporting, and support a well-controlled revenue process.
Responsibilities:
• Direct day-to-day accounts receivable activities, including billing, invoicing, collections, cash application, and account reconciliation.
• Monitor aging trends and take action on delinquent accounts to improve collection results and reduce past-due balances.
• Supervise and coach billing and receivables team members, supporting performance, development, and accountability.
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, operations, and customer support partners to resolve payment issues and streamline workflows.
• Analyze receivables performance and prepare regular metrics, summaries, and insights for leadership review.
• Improve processes and controls that minimize billing errors, customer disputes, and delays in payment.
• Assist with month-end close activities, audit support, and compliance with internal control standards.
• Contribute to special projects and provide ad hoc financial analysis as business needs arise.

• Bachelor’s degree is required; a degree in Accounting is preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, accounting, finance, or revenue cycle operations.

• Strong working knowledge of accounts receivable processes and core accounting principles, including general ledger interaction.

• Hands-on experience with billing, commercial collections, cash applications, cash activity, and aging report management.

• Proficiency with Acumatica or a comparable ERP platform is preferred.

• Experience with Acculynx or a similar system is a plus.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.


The salary range for this position is $40/hour to $45/hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
