Contract positions are common during periods of expansion, upgrades, or when specialized expertise is required for a limited time. These roles offer flexibility and can provide opportunities to work with various companies and technologies. However, contract workers may not receive the same benefits as full-time employees.

Who We Are:

At Bandwidth, we shape how the world connects. We're the global communications software company and Tier 1 network operator with global reach.  The voice, messaging, and emergency services infrastructure behind the brands and apps you use every day.

Because we own the network we build on, the problems you'll solve here are bigger, more complex, and more impactful. And as communications shifts to AI, we're the infrastructure layer making it possible.

The Strategic Account Manager will help us achieve the defined long-term organizational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals, and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions. In this role, you will manage a set of large strategic existing clients and ensure they stay satisfied and positive. You will seek opportunities for growth by cross-selling our global and domestic voice, messaging, and e911 solutions and services that meet or predict the customer's future needs.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the primary account owner for assigned strategic accounts

  • Forecast accurately within +/-5%; provide value and close dates, and accurately assess risk
  • Develop a deep understanding of each customer's business and the market they serve
  • Build relationships and rapport with customers and internal stakeholders that pertain to your mission
  • Use matrix selling and our EBC center to connect decision makers and c-level executives to relative roles within Bandwidth
  • Understand how to manage a book of business effectively, including the ability to identify key decision makers, organization mapping, identifying key accounts with opportunities, and deciding where to spend time and where to travel.
  • Utilize the ValueSelling methodology to ensure you have qualified opportunities and an agreed upon executable plan that aligns with the client's top business issue
  • Identify new opportunities to cross-sell Bandwidth global voice, messaging, and e911 solutions
  • Mitigate risk and maintain competitive contracts
  • Present strategic opportunities via Account Plans to leadership on an ongoing basis with an emphasis on quarterly and annual planning
  • Work cross-functionally with internal groups, leveraging resources for assigned accounts
  • Drive revenue generation and development of strategic partnerships

What You Need:

  • 10+ years of sales and business development experience
  • 7+ years of experience managing business development activities with large strategic or enterprise customers
  • 5+ years of experience managing existing accounts
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field

Bonus Points:

The Whole Person Promise:

At Bandwidth, we're pretty proud of our corporate culture, which is rooted in our "Whole Person Promise." We promise all employees that they can have meaningful work AND a full life, and we provide a work environment geared toward enriching your body, mind, and spirit. How do we do that? Well…

  • 100% company-paid Medical, Vision, & Dental coverage for you and your family with low deductibles and low out-of-pocket expenses.
  • All new hires receive four weeks of PTO.
  • PTO Embargo. When you take time off (of any kind!) you're embargoed from working. Bandmates and managers are not allowed to interrupt your PTO – not even with email.
  • Additional PTO can be earned throughout the year through volunteer hours and Bandwidth challenges.
  • "Mahalo moments" program grants additional time off for life's most important moments like graduations, buying a first home, getting married, wedding anniversaries (every five years), and the birth of a grandchild.
  • 90-Minute Workout Lunches and unlimited meetings with our very own nutritionist.

Are you excited about the position and its responsibilities, but not sure if you're 100% qualified? Do you feel you can work to help us crush the mission? If you answered 'yes' to both of these questions, we encourage you to apply! You won't want to miss the opportunity to be a part of the BAND.
