Travel Surgical Technician – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Torrance, CA

Discipline: Surgical Technician (ST) / Allied Health

Specialty: Operating Room / Labor & Delivery

Pay Range: $1,574.63 – $1,852.50 per week

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Travel Surgical Technician (ST) to join our care team in Torrance, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing the operating room, setting up sterile fields, organizing surgical instruments, and assisting surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures, with a focus on surgical care in Labor & Delivery and general surgical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms and ensure sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment are properly set up prior to procedures.
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique and monitor sterile fields during surgical operations.
  • Pass surgical instruments, sponges, and equipment to surgeons and surgical team members during procedures.
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and post-procedure clean-up and sterilizing protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to institutional safety and infection control guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certifications:
    • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in a Level I Trauma Center located in a high-volume metropolitan setting.
  • Assignment Terms: 8-week contract (40 hours per week).
