Job description

We are looking for an amazingly talented Senior Structural Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to provide Structural Engineering support to design and construction oversight for a prominent US Government customer.
 
While this effort does not involve performing actual construction activities, it will require close coordination with ongoing construction projects to meet critical deadlines, address logistical challenges, and minimize disruptions to operations. Personnel with relevant backgrounds in areas such as construction management, infrastructure planning, and financial oversight will play a key role in navigating technical, logistical, and financial requirements while ensuring compliance with the customer's stringent security protocols and operational standards. This role will support the completion of a wide range of Structural Engineering assignments, including such things as analysis of technical issues, review of technical documents, performance of field inspections, and development of technical papers.
 
Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).
Capabilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary architecture/engineering/construction teams, third-party contractors, and other government agencies to advance the customer's protective mission.
  • Utilize drawings, specifications, photographs, and other information to support projects to assess and improve site and building security.
  • Review and provide comments on deliverables for analysis, design, and construction projects.
  • Coordinate with program managers to develop, maintain, and update the program's strategy, budgeting, scheduling, and planning documents, as well as documentation of meetings and past activities.
  • Engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, third-party contractors, and other government agencies to plan and execute design and construction projects.
  • Coordinate with program managers to develop Scopes of Work (SOWs) and prepare contract packages for future acquisitions.
  • Ability to take ownership of responsibilities, work independently, and develop solutions to problems.
  • Experience with blast effect modeling tools, e.g., VAPO, 3d Blast, Urban Blast Tool, Extreme Loading for Structures (ELS).
  • Strong organizational, communication, project management, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with reviewing and understanding construction drawings, construction specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience working on large construction projects and interfacing with contractors, subcontractors, design team members, and owner's representatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree and/or Professional Engineer license preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience providing program or project management support and/or roles in the construction industry.
  • Good communication and analytical skills
Required Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of word processing and integrated software applications.

Pay Range: $67.79 - $97.92 per hour*
Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. *Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
