Job Title: Senior Statistician Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US * * * The Opportunity: CACI is actively seeking a Senior Statistician to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona. As a Statistician, you will support NSWC Corona and provide expertise in support of technical projects. Responsibilities: * Develop regression and Bayesian reliability models - To support the Weapons Assessment Division in developing statistical models in R, SAS, Python, or other statistical tools to assess these weapons throughout their lifecycle in order to identify reliability, availability, and maintainability trends, quantify reliability factors, and determine program(s).
* Design and monitor metrics with a team - Developed metrics at strategic process points that allow effective control of the process flow.
* Research and Development: Research technical or workload problems and present cost-effective or technical solutions to program managers, community, and other public forums.
* Perform Missile Reliability Analysis: Develop reliability models at various levels (round, section, plate, and component) and perform missile reliability analysis using approved standards, procedures, and work instructions.
* Publications and Development of Statistical Methodologies: Write, publish, and present reliability methodologies, studies, results, and assessment reports.
* Code Development and Maintenance: Maintain, troubleshoot, and develop code for statistical analysis and applications to interact/integrate with models, data, and data systems. Utilize version control tools such as Git.
* Database Management: Work within multiple databases; generate queries to pull specific data, understand the structure/relationships of tables, and more.
* Report Generation: Generate reports on various ordnance aspects including firings, maintenance, and production.
* Sponsor Collaboration: Work with sponsors to improve current data products and analysis processes.
* Cross-Project Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow statisticians across multiple projects. Qualifications: Required: * Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience, master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or a PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience, or
* Advanced expertise in statistical theory, modeling, and analysis.
* Proven ability to lead and direct teams effectively.
* Strong attention to detail with a resourceful, problem-solving mindset.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desired: • Familiarity with the Navy and its organizational structure.
• Working knowledge of data science principles and practices.
• Experience with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) data tools.
