Job description


Job Title: Software Development Engineer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Software Development Engineerwith our client located in Santa Clara, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Build and enhance backend service logic and related validation flows.
  • Implement and maintain compatibility, health-check, and rules-based logic used to validate complex system configurations.
  • Support API and integration work with downstream systems and partner teams.
  • Design and implement robust test infrastructure for feature validation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and partner teams to clarify requirements and translate them into deliverable engineering work.
  • Help reduce schedule and dependency risk on committed roadmap items by executing independently and driving tasks to closure.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong backend software engineering experience, ideally in Python-based services or libraries.
  • Experience with systems software, infrastructure software, or other technically complex backend platforms.
  • Experience designing or integrating APIs across dependent services.
  • C++ experience and developing with REST interfaces is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience working with remote teams at a product company
  • 4+ years of Linux development experience
  • Storage experience is desirable but not required

Job Details:
  • Job Type: Contract
  • Pay Range: $80-$86/hr.
  • Location: Santa Clara, CA (5 days office)
