Contract Software Engineer (Irl & US)
Responsibilities:

  • Define, own and standardize the product / system architecture for Vision Systems products and functions, including Surround View Visualisation systems, Trailer Assistance Systems, Automated Parking and Autonomous Driving systems incorporating advanced computer vision, deep learning and sensor fusion with ultrasonics, radar and lidar
  • Ensure competitive technical solutions and product features by keeping abreast of latest technologies and advanced developments
  • Contribute to the Technical Development Plan by analyzing product Market and Technology survey, and Benchmark reports to propose technical product and feature roadmaps
  • Develop product through generations and variants according to the technical development plan and new customer needs
  • Liase and collaborate with other teams in Ireland and Globally to ensure full understanding of system elements and how they can interact to produce each end user function with desired performance
  • Release technical training material on standard products and functions
  • Support the Business Development team as required by ensuring a detailed review of customer requirements during Request for Quote phase, propose technically appropriate solutions in response to Customer RFQ's and support the technical sale to the Customer
  • Support in validation and approval of technical solutions for new products and customers
  • Regular engagement with advanced engineering teams of our customers
  • Update product strategy according to received requests for quotations
  • Support standardization activities by performing design reviews and contributing to standardization committees, platform committees and engineering committees as required
  • Propose and create patents where possible, ensure IP protection and non-infringement

Education:
A Relevant Technical Engineering Degree E.g. Electronic Engineering / Computer Science
Professional Experience:
6+ years of work experience in a related field
High level of innovation and motivation
Automotive experience a major advantage
Track record of successful experience as a lead system or software architect for complex embedded systems
Image processing, computer vision, sensor fusion and/or robotics experience and advantage
Proven ability to communicate on technical concepts and propose technical solutions to customers, internal and external
Experience in ADAS function development an advantage
Excellent team player with proven leadership ability
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Confident, articulate, self-motivated, determined, energetic
Experience in dealing in an international Environment
Positive Strategic outlook
Proven ability to be able to react/respond quickly to issues and be able to 'think on your feet' - agility
