GD Resources LLC is seeking experienced Carpenters to support facility maintenance, renovation, and construction projects at the Dallas VA Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The selected candidates will perform skilled carpentry work involving installation, repair, alteration, and construction of building structures, finishes, fixtures, and facility components throughout a healthcare environment.

Position Summary

The Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry services associated with facility construction, renovation, remodeling, repair, and maintenance activities throughout the Dallas VA Medical Center.

The selected candidate will install, repair, and modify walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, roofs, cabinetry, furniture, flooring systems, and other building components. The Carpenter will perform both rough and finish carpentry tasks while ensuring all work meets facility requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.

The successful candidate must have strong knowledge of carpentry methods, construction techniques, building materials, and the ability to work independently while supporting healthcare facility operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Carpentry and Construction
  • Perform rough and finish carpentry work throughout hospital buildings and facility areas.

  • Install, alter, repair, and maintain:

    • Walls

    • Floors

    • Ceilings

    • Roof structures

    • Windows

    • Frames

    • Trim and architectural finishes

  • Construct and install new structures, partitions, and temporary facilities.

  • Perform repairs and modifications to existing building components.

Drywall and Interior Construction

Perform interior construction activities, including:

  • Construction and installation of drywall partitions.

Tools, Materials, and Equipment
  • Select and use appropriate hand tools and power tools for carpentry activities.

  • Maintain and properly care for tools and equipment.

  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install building materials.

  • Follow manufacturer instructions and accepted construction practices.

Coordination and Communication

The Carpenter will coordinate daily activities with VA personnel while remaining under the supervision and management of GD Resources LLC.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reporting daily to the VA Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for work assignments.

  • Coordinating tasks and schedules with facility representatives.

  • Communicating work progress and completion status.

  • Following assigned priorities based on facility needs.

  • Maintaining professional communication with Government personnel.

Reporting and Documentation Responsibilities

At the conclusion of each shift, the Carpenter shall provide the COR with updates regarding:

  • Specific tasks completed.

  • Maintenance, repair, or construction activities performed.

  • Exact location of work completed.

  • Materials or components replaced, when applicable.

  • Items requiring additional attention.

  • Name(s) of personnel performing the work.

Personnel must also complete daily timecards documenting all hours worked. GD Resources LLC will compile and submit time records with monthly billing documentation as required.

Work Schedule

The standard work schedule is:

  • Monday through Friday

  • 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

  • Approximately 80 hours per pay period

All work must be coordinated with VA personnel before beginning assigned tasks.

Any work performed outside normal business hours requires prior approval from the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Contracting Officer, or authorized Government representative.

Overtime is not permitted unless authorized in advance through applicable Government approval procedures and contract modification requirements.

Candidates must possess:
