Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator 2 to set up, operate, and monitor various cutting, forming, and production machines in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial equipment, reading blueprints, performing basic machine maintenance, and ensuring product quality and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect workpieces for defects and verify measurements using templates, rulers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.

  • Monitor machine operations to identify defects or malfunctions and make necessary adjustments.

  • Read blueprints, work orders, and product specifications to determine tooling requirements and production sequences.

  • Set up and operate machines such as lathes, cutters, shears, borers, millers, grinders, presses, drills, and other auxiliary equipment.

  • Position, adjust, and secure materials or workpieces using fixtures, chucks, arbors, or automated feeding mechanisms.

  • Select, install, and align drills, cutters, dies, guides, and holding devices.

  • Replace worn machine components and accessories using hand tools.

  • Perform minor mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and notify supervisors when major repairs are required.

  • Operate machine feeding, cooling, and lubrication systems.

  • Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, oiling, and replenishing coolant levels.

Required Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing machines, tools, maintenance, and repair.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and manufacturing operations.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 2–4 years of relevant machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
