Service ManagerCommercial HVAC Service DivisionReports To: Vice President of OperationsLocation: Tempe, AZ - travel across Greater PhoenixCompensation: Up to $144,000 annually, including bonuses and incentivesPOSITION SUMMARYThe Commercial HVAC Service Manager manages and grows the commercial service department - ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitable growth. This role oversees day-to-day service operations, leads the field service team, and drives new account sales through business development and strong client relationships.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESOperations & ManagementOversee all commercial HVAC service operations - maintenance, repairs, and emergency response.Manage scheduling, dispatching, and technician workloads for efficiency and response times.Monitor work quality, compliance, and safety to ensure consistent service excellence.Review and approve work orders, quotes, and service reports for accuracy and profitability.Sales & Business DevelopmentPursue and secure new commercial service accounts through prospecting and networking.Develop proposals, quotes, and service agreements tailored to client needs.Collaborate with the Director and marketing/sales teams on revenue growth strategies.Manage existing accounts to drive satisfaction, upsells, renewals, and contract expansions.Track sales performance and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities.Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead, train, and motivate technicians, dispatchers, and coordinators to hit departmental goals.Conduct performance evaluations and coaching to promote professional growth.Foster a team culture built on safety, accountability, and customer service.Facilitate regular team meetings on safety, scheduling, and performance.Customer RelationsServe as the primary point of contact for key commercial clients.Respond to escalated service issues and ensure timely resolution.Conduct site visits and customer meetings to evaluate service quality and build relationships.Ensure consistent communication and follow-up to strengthen long-term partnerships.Financial & AdministrativeSupport the Director with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the department.Track sales, service revenue, labor utilization, and profit margins.Maintain accurate, timely documentation for all service and sales activity.Safety & ComplianceEnforce safety policies and procedures to sustain a zero-incident culture.Verify technician certifications and maintain compliance with EPA, OSHA, and local regulations.Conduct periodic site inspections and safety audits.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate or technical degree in HVAC or mechanical systems preferred.Minimum 5–7 years of commercial HVAC experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory or management role.Demonstrated success in HVAC service operations and new business development or sales.Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, maintenance agreements, and service delivery models.Proven ability to drive sales growth and maintain strong customer relationships.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong business acumen - able to manage budgets, pricing, and profitability.Proficiency with service management / CRM software (e.g., ServiceTitan or similar).EPA certification and HVAC licensing preferred.BENEFITSMedical, Dental, Vision, and Life InsuranceProfit Sharing Retirement PlanZayZoon - Wages on Demand6 Paid Holidays48 Hours of Paid Time Off40 Hours of Sick TimeCompany events and moreOUR PROMISETempe Mechanical is an equal opportunity employer.
