About the Position
As a Project Manager, you will support the planning, execution, and financial performance of electrical construction projects while coordinating project teams, field leadership, and clients to deliver successful outcomes. Project Managers may independently lead smaller projects or work alongside Senior Project Managers or Project Directors on larger and more complex projects.
This role provides an opportunity to further develop project leadership skills while supporting the delivery of increasingly complex electrical construction projects. As Project Managers gain experience and demonstrate strong performance, they may progress into Senior Project Manager roles with expanded leadership responsibility for larger and more complex projects.

Day in the Life
  • Partners with leadership to provide strategic input to key objectives and decisions affecting the business unit and functional work group. Conducts high-quality business development and job solicitation in the marketplace, in partnership with other Company leaders. Provides ongoing quality reviews and project communication with owners, contractors, designers, subcontractors, engineers, architects, field staff, and other customers or stakeholders, addressing and resolving issues when needed.
  • Serve as the overall project leader for large commercial and industrial electrical construction projects, responsible for the successful delivery of scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance.
  • Lead and align the project team, including project managers, engineers, and field leadership, ensuring strong coordination between office and field operations.
  • Support preconstruction and pursuit efforts, including estimating input, scope development, value engineering, and participation in contract negotiations
  • Lead project planning and execution, including staffing strategy, procurement planning, schedule development, and coordination with engineering and field teams.
  • Oversee project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and change order management.
  • Manage client and partner relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, and key project stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership for project safety, reinforcing company safety programs and expectations across all project activities.
  • Lead contract administration and risk management, including major procurement decisions, subcontract strategy, and change management.
  • Ensure effective management of project construction documents, including drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and revisions, ensuring field teams are working from the most current issued information.
  • Maintain a working understanding of IBEW labor agreements, supporting coordination with union leadership and compliance with applicable labor standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering, project management, business administration, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience. Extensive project management training and skills-thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
  • Minimum 2 years of project management work experience in construction (electrical distribution/substation, renewable energy or related disciplines).
  • Experience with computerized estimating systems and software, preferably Accubid. Experience and proficiency using Accubid, Revit, CAD, SKM, ADGI, Navisworks, and/or BIM systems is a plus.
  • Trained and proficient in project management tools and techniques, negotiating, budgeting, estimating, costing, contracting, scheduling, pricing, and common code requirements. Strong business analysis and mathematical skills. Show ability to diagnose complex problems with strategic critical thinking skills and detail orientation, and to drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative and sensitivity.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with construction methods and materials, costing, power, lighting, systems design, and general industry safety and OSHA standards, procedures, and regulations. Keen understanding of the National Electric Code. Skills to read, interpret and understand financial documents, electrical bids, contracts, plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead project teams and coordinate with clients, contractors, and field leadership.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and general electrical construction practices.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining project quality and accuracy.

Travel
  • Travel to project sites within the region may be required.
