Job description

AWS' Infrastructure Physical Security Team is looking for a detail-oriented, experienced and professional Cluster Security Manager. You will have experience managing the security of large critical infrastructure installations, ideally, data centers. You will have professional experience managing people with varying skill sets, devising strategies, creating, tracking and managing budgets, sponsoring projects, and driving improvements of our security readiness. You will report to the Cluster Security Manager responsible for your area.
As a Cluster Security Manager you will be tasked with leading a team of professional security managers who drive operational security excellence at several separate facilities located within a short driving distance. You and your team's constant vigilance will discover physical security gaps and shortcomings which you will fix immediately. You will interface and direct vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols, and planning. You will extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at hard data. You will make suggestions on improving electronic surveillance and access controls. You will direct efforts to educate data center occupants on false alarm reductions. You will write and implement security process and procedures. Your position will require you to write reports, create presentations and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.
Key job responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a robust customer relationship with key customers in and outside of the Cluster to ensure complete understanding of security processes to enable the delivery of viable security responses.
- Responsible for planning, developing and implementing security plans, security programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Incident Management and coordinates site investigations with the Global Intelligence and Investigative team.
- Maintains an extensive knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues and security technology, and updates management on risk and threats that could impact Data Centers.
- Responsible for performing annual risk analysis for assigned Data Center sites, particularly with respect to level of crime, terrorism, workplace violence, and threats from natural and man-made disasters.
- Responsible for providing leadership and best practices to the on-site Cluster/Campus Data Center Management Team on security policy and practices.
- Identifies exposures and provides recommendations as well as develops corrective plans that will be provided to their next level management.
- Provides leadership, advice, and guidance to AWS Data Center staff as well as contract security force staff in achieving current and long-range strategic program objectives.
- Serves as staff support to security management and assists in conducting investigations of significant threats and/or the loss or misappropriation of assets.
- Liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies for assigned locations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of physical security experience
- 5+ years of security management experience
- 5+ years of leadership role experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in security operations in a leadership role
- Experience in physical security best practices including application of physical security systems, investigation techniques, management of contract security guards and incident management
- Experience in Program management or services experience deploying technology solutions
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Advanced Degree or a CPP, CISSP, PSP, PMP Certification
- Proven leadership skills and strong business acumen

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
