ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: The Cal Poly Pomona Foundation is currently seeking One Technical Research Staff to participate in an Organic Tomato Breeding Research Project.
This position will assist with one or more of the following activities: farm preparation, plant data collection, field preparation, conducting greenhouse planting and supervise hybridization and other breeding methods, supervising students at the field and greenhouse, maintaining plants during the growing season and assist faculty and organizing all research materials and report preparation.
The selected students will work under the supervision of Dr. Priti Saxena, in the Department of Plant Science.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
This position will assist with one or more of the following activities: farm preparation, plant data collection, field preparation, conducting greenhouse planting and supervise hybridization and other breeding methods, supervising students at the field and greenhouse, maintaining plants during the growing season and assist faculty and organizing all research materials and report preparation.
The student will work under the supervision of Dr. Priti Saxena in the Department of Plant Science.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Should have BS in Plant Science, Agriculture.
  • Must demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in crop field environments as part of research activities.

This position may be considered for internship credit with the approval of the student's department chair or internship coordinator.
Preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
