Position Summary

We are seeking a Product Owner - Accounting to join our Product Team in Montreal, QC. This is aone-year contract positionto providematernity leave coverage.

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you will own the development and continuous evolution of Jesta's Accounting solution. Working closely with Product Management, Development, QA, Professional Services, and customers, you will translate business needs into scalable, compliant financial capabilities while ensuring the successful delivery of enhancements and the continuity of the Accounting product roadmap.


Responsibilities

    • Own and manage theAccounting
      product backlog, ensuring alignment with businessobjectives, customer needs, and technical feasibility. Continuously prioritize and refine backlog items to maximize business value.
    • Act as the primary liaison betweenAccounting, Product Management, Engineering, QA, Professional Services, and Customer Success to define and deliver innovative financial solutions.
    • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into clear epics, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
    • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring the development team has a clear understanding of priorities.
    • Develop functional specifications that support financial operations whilemaintainingcompliance with accounting principles and enterprise architecture.
    • Collaborate closely with development teams throughout implementation, providing ongoing clarification, answering business questions, and removing functional roadblocks.
    • Partner with QA teams to define comprehensive test scenarios,validatefinancial calculations, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solution quality.
    • Monitor product performance after release by reviewing customer feedback, support issues, product metrics, and enhancement requests to drive continuous improvement.
    • Ensure seamless integration betweenAccountingand other enterprise modules, including Merchandising, Planning, Procurement, Warehouse Management (WMS), Point of Sale (POS), Supply & Demand, and external financial applications.
    • Support product roadmap planning byidentifyingopportunities to modernize financial processes, improve automation, andleverageemerging technologies, including AI-driven financial capabilities.
    • Stay current with industry best practices, accounting standards, financial technologies, and retail ERP trends to influence long-term product strategy.
    • Support documentation, product demonstrations, customer workshops, and internal training initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new functionality.


    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification is considered an asset.

    Experience

      • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or similar role in enterprise software.
      • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
      • Hands-on experience withAccountingERP systems, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Cost Accounting,orProject Accounting.
      • Experience working within RetailPlanningis highly desirable.
      • Familiarity with accounting principles, financial controls, month-endand year-end closing processes.
      • Experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle experience is preferred).
      • Knowledge of ERP integrations with merchandising, warehouse, procurement, and external financial systems.
      • Experience preparing business requirements, functional specifications, process documentation, and user stories.
      • Experience collaborating with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.

          Relevant du directeur de la gestion de produits, vous serez responsable de l'evolution continue de la solution Comptabilite de Jesta.           Responsabilites

          • Gerer et prioriser le backlog du produit Comptabilite, en veillant a son alignement avec les objectifs d'affaires, les besoins de la clientele et la faisabilite technique afin de maximiser la valeur livree.
          • Agir comme principale intermediaire entre les equipes Comptabilite, Gestion de produits, Developpement, Assurance qualite (QA), Services professionnels et Succes client afin de definir et livrer des solutions financieres innovantes.
          • Recueillir, analyser et documenter les besoins d'affaires, puis les traduire en epics, recits utilisateurs (user stories), flux de travail et criteres d'acceptation clairs.
          • Animer les ceremonies Agile, notamment le raffinement du backlog, la planification des sprints, les revues de sprint et les retrospectives, afin d'assurer une comprehension commune des priorites.
          • Rediger les specifications fonctionnelles soutenant les operations financieres tout en respectant les principes comptables et l'architecture d'entreprise.

          Qualifications

          Formation

          • Baccalaureat en comptabilite, finance, administration des affaires, informatique, systemes d'information ou dans un domaine connexe.
          • Certification Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) ou toute certification Agile equivalente (atout).

          Experience

          • Minimum de 5 ans d'experience comme Product Owner, analyste d'affaires, consultante fonctionnelle ou dans un role similaire au sein d'un environnement de logiciels d'entreprise.
          • Solide comprehension des methodologies Agile/Scrum et du cycle de developpement logiciel.
          • Experience concrete avec des solutions ERP de comptabilite, notamment: Grand livre (GL),Comptes fournisseurs (AP),Comptes clients (AR),Immobilisations,Rapports financiers,Budgetisation,Comptabilite analytique,Comptabilite de projets
          • Une experience des solutions de Retail Planning constitue un atout important.
